The name JamesViolet was inspired by my first name, James, as well as my Grandmother, Violet - a loving and incredible soul. I truly believe that a photographer should become the lens, capturing images through the eyes and soul. This is what makes a photograph truly unique and meaningful.
I've always believed that photography was my life's passion. I finally gave into my heart in 2009 to pursue it full time. Even though I was drawn to the craft, I admit I lost focus for a while through my own personal life lens. With the gracious support of my family and loved ones, I'm now rockin' my camera 24/7. I never forgot my roots. I grew up in Hespeler, Ontario, Canada in a townhouse on Bechtel Street. I lived there with my loving mother Margaret, (who's heart is sometimes too big for her own good), and my Father Sidney, who was known as the kind old man whom helped everyone in the neighborhood. During my 18 years at home I tapped into my creative inclinations. In fact, in High School I played bass in a rock and roll band named Souldriver.
My many life experiences growing up gave me freedom to explore my small slice of home. Beauty suddenly emerged everywhere around me, from the gritty grace of the sweeping train bridge in Hespeler, to the graceful winding of the Speed River through Riverside Park in Preston. The awe-inspiring gifts of nature set me onto my life choices and career path to become a professional photographer
